FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

For the Interactive Slides App in Canva and the core Vivicon App

What interactive elements can be added to slides?

With both Vivicon and the Interactive Slides app available in Canva, you can add the following to your presentation: Polls, Open-ended questions, Word clouds, Pro–con debates, and Forms.

A unique slide type available only in Vivicon is the Interactive Image, while a special feature of the Interactive Slides app is the Slider slide, where the audience can respond to a question using a scale.

Can participants’ answers to questions be downloaded?

Yes, answers and results can be downloaded. For Forms, you can see which participant gave which answer, while for other slide types the results are available in aggregated form.

The data can be downloaded as Excel files: one file contains the results of the forms included in the slide deck, while another includes the aggregated results of the other slide types.

In the Forms menu, you also have the option to download all submissions for a specific form, regardless of which slide deck it appears in.

How can participants join the presentation?

Participants can join the presentation by scanning a QR code or by opening a link and entering a join code.

Can participants who arrive late still join the session?

Yes. The joining information remains visible during the presentation, and the presenter can re-display it at any time with a single click.

Can participants who answer correctly be rewarded within the system?

At the moment, there is no built-in feature for rewarding participants based on correct answers.

Can the system be used to record attendance?

Yes. You can add an attendance sheet to the slide deck as a Form, which connected participants can fill out. In this case, it’s important that the presenter does not allow anonymous joining, so participants can later be identified based on their user accounts.

How can participants log in?

Participants have several login options:

  • with a Google account

  • with a Microsoft account

  • with an Apple ID

  • with a registered Vivicon account

+1: If the presenter allows it, participants can also join anonymously.

What can artificial intelligence be used for within the app?

While editing a presentation, for Poll slides you can use AI to generate question and answer options. These AI-generated suggestions can, of course, be freely edited and customized by you.

How is my user data used?

User data is used exclusively for logging into the system and for sharing suggestions related to creating presentations, as well as informing users about new features.

How does the system use and handle participants’ data?

To enable participation in a presentation, the software performs an identification step when participants join. For this, participants choose which service they want to use to identify themselves. Several well-known, globally trusted services with appropriate security measures are available, such as Google, Apple ID, or Microsoft user accounts.

During the joining process, identification is handled by these providers, meaning we do not receive or store passwords or any other data related to those services. As part of the identification, we only receive the information necessary to know which user has joined the presentation.

Can my password be compromised if I log in to my account from a different location?

No. The system uses an encrypted (SSL) connection for login, so your username and password are transmitted to the server through a secure, encrypted channel.

Is it possible to join anonymously?

Yes! If you enable this option, participants can respond to your questions anonymously.

For the Interactive Slides App

Are the interactive slide types available in Canva as well?

Yes. The app is available within Canva under the name Interactive Slides.

Is it mandatory to log in to the Interactive Slides app?

No, logging in is not mandatory. However, by signing in you gain access to a wider range of features. You can read more about this in the Interactive Slides – Canva section.

Why does the system redirect me when using certain features?

Some features are available directly on the Vivicon platform, so when you use them, a redirect is required. This redirection is completely secure and is only necessary to ensure that these functions work properly and smoothly.

Examples of such features include:

  • downloading results,
  • managing forms and responses,
  • managing subscriptions,
  • and logging in.

What does the number shown in the Analytics section indicate?

This number is for informational purposes. It helps you track how many participants have joined your presentations during the given month, within the limits of your subscription plan.

Do I receive any information about my audience during the presentation?

Yes. For each interactive element, you can see how many participants have joined and how many have already submitted a response to your question.

How can I control when my audience can submit answers to my question?

For every interactive element, you can close and reopen the option to submit responses at any time during the presentation with a single click.

What is resetting the results used for?

Resetting the results allows you to start the presentation with a clean slate.
This feature clears all response counts and removes previously submitted answers from every interactive element, so the presentation can be reused with a new audience and fresh results.

How far back can results be downloaded?

Resetting the results starts a new data-collection phase, so downloaded results only include responses submitted after the reset.

For the core Vivicon App

Can I access my slide decks from anywhere?

Yes. Uploaded slide decks are stored in the cloud, so they can be accessed from any device with an internet connection via your user account.

What do I need to run a presentation?

To run a presentation, you need an internet connection and two displays.
This can be set up using a computer or laptop with a projector, or a computer connected to two screens.

Can participants download the slide deck?

No. Only the owner of the slide deck can download it.

Can participants take digital notes during the presentation?

Yes, participants can take notes on certain slide types using their own devices. At the end of the presentation, they can download their notes. However, in the downloaded file, only the image of the slide that the presenter has allowed to be shared will appear alongside the notes.

What file formats can be uploaded for a presentation?

Currently, files in .pptx and .pdf formats can be uploaded to the system.

Can the system be run on an organization’s own server (e.g. university, large company)?

Yes, this is possible, but it requires separate consultation and a prior assessment of the organization’s infrastructure.

If I upload my slide deck, do I retain my intellectual property rights?

Absolutely yes. The uploaded slide deck remains accessible only to the user, and all interactive questions created within the system remain the intellectual property of the user.

Who can access the uploaded slide decks?

Slide decks can be accessed by:

  • the owner of the slide deck

  • participants who have joined the presentation during the session

  • users with whom the owner has shared the presentation

What exactly is Vivicon?
